- Khao Yai is the oldest, and one of the largest, National Parks in Thailand. This tremendous day trip will take you right into the heart of the park and see the best that it has to offer. It may cost a little more than other day trips from Bangkok, but no other trip will give you such a rich and varied itinerary, with an expert local guide
- Your SmileyThai guide and driver will collect you from your central Bangkok hotel, or from Saphon Taksin BTS, in your own air-conditioned, private vehicle
- Soon you will leave Bangkok behind you as you head north and then west, through rural countryside with paddy fields of rice and banana plantations. Your guide will point out places of interest and take you to a local Fruit Market, where we will buy you tropical fruits such as rambutan, longan and mangosteen
- After two and a half hours, you will arrive at Pak Chong gate, the entrance to Khao Yai National Park, where you will meet your forest guide and board your safari vehicle
- Your time in the park will begin with a slow drive through the jungle, looking for gibbons, hornbills, kingfishers, gaur, macaques and other animals on your Jungle Safari
- After a while, your jungle guide will stop the vehicle and you will continue to search for wildlife on foot. Your Jungle Hike will last for about two hours
- You will then make your way to the park’s Visitor Centre where you will have Lunch in a Thai restaurant
After lunch, your safari vehicle will take you to the beautiful Haew Suwat Waterfall, made famous when Leonardo Di - Caprio jumped from it in the film, ‘The Beach’. You can relax by the waterfall, take magical photo’s, or even jump in for a refreshing dip in the cool waters
- We then drive through the park, visiting known salt licks and foraging areas, where larger wildlife may be seen. If you are lucky, then you may come across some of the wild Elephants that live in the park
- As you leave the park, we will take you to the spellbinding Khao Luk Chang Bat Cave, where you can view over a million bats leaving the cave at dusk. This mesmeric sight is sure to last long in the memory
- We will leave the caves at about 19:00 and head back to Bangkok. If you wish to stop off for dinner on the way, then this can be arranged, although it is not included in the price, or you can head straight back to the city
- Your guide and driver will take you back to your hotel, or to the airport, where your tour will end
