- This exciting tour will take you out of Bangkok into the Thai countryside where you’ll be able to see a completely different way of life.
- Your guide and driver will collect you from your central Bangkok hotel, or from Saphon Taksin BTS, in your own air-conditioned, private vehicle
- Your journey will take you through the provinces of Nakhon Pathom and Kanchanaburi and your guide will inform you about the Thai way of life in these districts which stretch from western Bangkok to Burma, as you drive past fields of rice, coconuts and pineapples
- In the city of Kanchanaburi, we will take you to the JEATH War Museum and the War Cemetery for many of the 12,000 prisoners who lost their lives during the bridge’s construction
- Next, you will board a longtail speedboat for an exhilarating journey down the River Kwai to the famous bridge that was built for the Japanese in 1943, to link Bangkok and Rangoon in Burma. The bridge was built by local labourers and prisoners of war, many of whom perished during its construction
- You will be able to explore the infamous Bridge on the River Kwai on foot, before we take you for a tasty Thai Lunch on the banks of the river
- After you have eaten, you will climb aboard your carriage for wonderful, scenic journey along Death Railway itself. You will cross the River Kwai and wind your way through glorious jungle scenery
- Your guide and driver will take you back to your hotel, or to the airport, where your tour will end
